Greedy Ba$tard
A lyrical takedown of golden thrones, broken promises, and weaponized despair
Why want more
when you have more
than you could ever even use?
How deep is that hole
in your own freaking mind,
when you assert all that you’re due?
How dare you compare
your plight to those lesser—
in any possible frame?
How hard is your life
with your golden spoon,
always sailing by on your name?
How hard is your heart
when you look at the needy—
and think of all you can gain?
By twisting their minds,
telling nothing but lies—
then talking of them with disdain.
You’re nothing but shit
on your golden throne sitting,
inviting only despair.
For those who upheld you—
believed all your falsehood,
wishing only to dare...
For a sound place to live,
with morals felt deeply—
which you promised with all due haste.
Yet instead help your buddies,
who want for nothing;
they demand far more than a taste—
Of power wrongly stolen—
from the people you fleeced
with all of your promises and lies.
A tyrant, what you are—
a bully, nothing more;
your plots have all been devised.
Bring evil into our house;
tear democracy down—
everything we’ve built with our tools.
Clearer now who you are—
a snake in the garden,
but snakes were never so cruel.
Author’s Note:
This one’s for the power-hungry liars in gold-trimmed suits, who weaponize hope and betray the people they pretend to serve. I didn’t write this to be polite… I wrote it to tell the truth.
